A SPECIALIST eating disorder service for children and young people in Hampshire has been shortlisted for an award.

Hampshire Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), which is provided by Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, has been shortlisted in the Community Mental Health Eating Disorders category at the 2019 National Positive Practice in Mental Health Awards.

The National Positive Practice Awards celebrate excellent practice in mental health care across the NHS, and champion the work that is being done to improve services for patients, carers and families.

The Hampshire CAMHS Specialist Eating Disorder Service provides treatment and support to children and young people who are experiencing an eating disorder, and their families.

Dr Emily David, senior clinical psychologist for Hampshire CAMHS, said: “As a team we are honoured and proud to be recognised at a national level for the second year running at these awards where the very best practice and mental health services are celebrated.

“As a service we are committed to providing the very best care that we can for young people and their families experiencing eating disorders and we are so pleased to be given the chance to contribute to and share excellence and innovative practice with other organisations that are part of the Positive Practice Collaboration.”

The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony at Duxford Air Museum in Cambridge on Thursday, October 10.
