AUGUST bank holiday was, at one time, annually marked with an explosion of colour and excitement as Brockenhurst Carnival would get underway. In memory of this, the Daily Echo
takes a look at the event 20 years ago.
As the procession wound its way from The Rise to the college, holiday makers and locals mingled at the roadside to enjoy the eye-catching spectacle.
Other attractions included a host of stands and sideshows, a barbecue and - as always - a crowded bar.
Noel Parks, who helped organise the day said: “We had a great day and we had brilliant support and the weather was lovely.”
Money raised was donated to local charities and village organisations.
