THUNDERSTORMS may hit the city during broad daylight this afternoon, according to The Met Office.
A yellow warning has been issued, stating that heavy showers and thunderstorms could cause some disruption at 4pm.
The weather site said that there is "a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded quickly, with damage to some buildings from floodwater, lightning strikes or hail".
They added that there could be possible delays and cancellations to public transport, including trains and buses, and that spray and sudden flooding could cause difficulties for those driving on the roads and may lead to potential road closures.
Power cuts and other services to homes and businesses might also be lost, according to their website.
It is set to hit Southampton and other areas, including London, Brighton and Portsmouth.
