HOVERTRAVEL services have been cancelled this morning (Saturday) due to the high winds.

Wightlink and Red Funnel have also warned of possible disruption.

Wightlink posted on its travel feed: "There are high winds forecast on our Lymington Yarmouth route. We plan to run our normal timetable but customers should also check for travel updates during the day."

Red Funnel said yesterday: "Due to high winds forecast in the Solent for the next 36 hours, we may experience some disruption to our services."

As reported, a Met Office weather warning for wind is in place until 11.59pm tonight.

The Sail GP and Cowes Week racing has been cancelled today.
