IT wasn't just steam power on show at the Netley Marsh Steam Rally - the great old workhorses of British industry were puffing away in the scorching sun.
The 29th Netley Marsh Steam Rally took place 20 years ago on July 23, 1999, and played host to huge entry of 32 working traction engines.
Among them was a regular visitor from just across the fields. The steam engine Charlie B, owned by Don Culley, farmed the rally's adjoining fields at Netley Marsh's Vicarage Farm.
Driver Derek Phillips explained that the 1916 engine, which spent its working life driving a threshing machine, was in tip-top condition after a £20,000 re-fit four year prior.
Lovingly restored cars, a glittering array of motorcycles and a well cared-for line-up of heavy horses competed the big parade of transport through the ages.
