A 51-YEAR old woman has been arrested in connection to a Bishop's Waltham stabbing.

Detectives are continuing to investigate the assault on a 63-year old lady at a house in Oak Road, after being called yesterday at 11.30am (July 22).

The woman had sustained stab wounds and was taken to hospital for treatment. Her injuries are described as serious but not life threatening.

Detectives have today (July 23) been granted an extension to continue questioning her.

Detective Sergeant Steve Morrison said: "Our enquiries will continue today, so if you have any information about what took place then please contact us.

"This is being treated as an isolated incident, with no ongoing risk to the wider community.

"Residents will continue to see a police presence in the area today, as officers make their enquiries. If you have any concerns about this incident or anything else, then please speak to them."
