A SOUTHAMPTON woman has been charged after elderly people were targeted in distraction burglaries.
Police have charged Jolene McKenzie with two counts of burglary.
It comes after reports of distraction burglaries committed against elderly people in West End and Southampton.
On June 12 it was reported a woman knocked on the door of a home on Upper New Road, West End and asked to come in for a cup of water.
The elderly resident later notice her purse was missing from the lounge.
On June 14 it was reported a woman knocked on the door of a home on Pound Street, Southampton and asked the elderly occupant for assistance. The victim later noticed her purse had been stolen.
McKenzie, 42, of Fritham Road, was remanded in custody and will appear before Southampton Crown Court on August 16.
