As seen from CCTV footage from one of the family’s neighbour’’s, Zeus was stolen from his bed located in the kitchen of Keira’s home between 3am and 3.30am.

Four individuals entered the property, located in Avington Close, after they managed to turn the key that was in the inside of the kitchen door after they managed to open a small window located next to the door.

Keira, her husband Jonathan, her four year old son Joshua and her two year old daughter Georgia were all fast asleep upstairs whilst the incident too place.

Keira said: “None of us were woken up.

“The first I knew of this was when I came downstairs at 7am and opened the back door to let Zeus out into the garden.

“I then looked in the kitchen and he wasn’t there.

“I checked upstairs to see if he was with my husband and we couldn’t find him.

“This was then when we noticed that the door was unlocked and we definitely locked it the night before.”

Keira said that she began to cry instantly and rang the police.

She said: “They took nothing else, our car keys and a speaker were on the kitchen side but they just took Zeus so they were definitely targetting him.”

Keira described Zeus as a “playful” and “loveable” dog.

She added: “He is a really big part of our family, we even take him on holiday with us.”

Now Keira and her family are appealing for Zeus to be returned.

She said: “I don’t care if he is just left in the garden or taken to a vets as he has a microchip.

“We just desperately want him back with us.”

Zeus is nearly one year old and he is set to celebrate his birthday on July 23.

The family have had him since October last year and he is of black Merle colouring.
