PRO-LEVEL tributes to Oasis, Queen and the Foo Fighters are to headline at a festival celebrating fakes in Southampton this weekend.

Thousands of music fans are expected to flock to Fake Festival, which is returning to the city for the fourth time.

The Fake Fest is to take place at Mayflower Park tomorrow from 11.45am.

The event will include performances from six fake bands including; Stereotonics, a Stereophonics tribute at 12.45pm; Oasish, an Oasis tribute at 2.30pm; Fu Fighters, a Foo Fighters tribute at 4.15pm; Duran, a Duran Duran tribute at 6pm; Musest, a Muse tribute at 8pm; and Flash, a Queen tribute at 9.45pm.

Music lovers can expect to hear all sorts of class tracks. They will enjoy everything from Handbags and Gladrags to Hungry Like The Wolf and from Bohemian Rhapsody to Band on the Run.

Fake Festival has become a fixture on the calendar at the waterfront location of Mayflower Park and sees more than 1,000 revellers enjoy some superb live music from the best tributes around.

A spokesman for Fake Fest told the Daily Echo: “We’re bringing six of our ‘fake bands’ to Southampton – professional ‘touring-grade’ tribute bands that put on a superb performance.

“They look, sound and move like the real rock-stars – you have to see them to believe it.

“We work hard to ensure our festivals are safe, secure, accessible and friendly - with an environment that caters for all ages.”

The giant marquee covers any poor weather and there’s a well-stocked licensed bar inside and a food area outside.

Traders will be providing range of food such as pizza, burgers and jacket potatoes.

Last year, more than 1,500 people arrived at the park to listen to Flash, Kazabian, New2, the Really Hot Chilli Peppers and The Police Force.

Tickets for the event have now sold out.
