WITH Pride on its way to Southampton, ferry service Red Funnel Ferries has represented the LGBT+ community in style.

They have changed their logo to the colourful rainbow stripes that mark the Pride flag, so that when they set to sail, it can be seen by all on the side of their ferry instead of the usual Red Falcon logo.

This comes ahead of the two Pride events taking place in Southampton on Saturday August 24 and Isle of Wight on Saturday July 20, where Red Funnel will be an official partner and walk in the parade.

The ferry service have shown continued support for the LGBT+ community in previous years, including last year when they announced their renewed sponsorship and hosted the Isle of Wight Pride event.

Red Funnel CEO Fran Collins said: "The Pride logo on our ferry, Red Falcon, which we’re dubbing “Pride Funnel”, represents so much more than Red Funnel showing its support for the LGBT+ community.

"It’s a reminder that it is vital to ensure that our workplace is a safe, positive, and nurturing environment for everyone, while inclusion and diversity are fundamental to our culture and core values."

"Equal opportunities are available at Red Funnel to everyone regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, religion, belief, sexual orientation, family status or disability and the essence of the Pride movement underpins this same ethos."

She added: "It’s a declaration and a commitment that we will continue to respect and strive to understand one another and embrace diversity within our workplace.

“It symbolises the fact that everyone brings something unique to the table here at Red Funnel, and it’s this variety of diversity, skills, life experiences, personalities and perspectives that will set us up for continued success.”
