ARMED police were at a Bournemouth hotel yesterday morning after a man was slashed with a knife.

Two armed response units, three marked and one unmarked police car were at the Royal Bath Hotel in Bath Road, close to the town's seafront.

Police say they were called out at 9.25am after a man in his 20s was assaulted by men who forced their way into his room.

"The victim had sustained head injuries, including an injury believed to have been caused by a bladed article of some kind," the spokesperson said.

"The man was taken to hospital for treatment. His injuries are not believed to be life-changing or life-threatening.

"Searches were carried out in the area to locate the men involved. At this time they have not been located an enquiries are ongoing."
