AN “EMOTIONAL” ex-girlfriend drove at her former lover with her toddler strapped into the backseat during an argument over a holiday.

Megan Floyd, 25, became enraged with her ex-boyfriend after he refused to refund her money for a holiday after their break-up.

Angered by his refusal, she crashed her car into his work vehicle before driving directly at him – forcing him to jump out of the way.

Floyd texted her ex-partner again to tell him she was outside his work, at a Romsey Car Body Repairs in Budds Lane, On February 23.

An argument broke out when he knocked back her refund demands – claiming he had paid for a more expensive holiday earlier in their relationship.

Mr Gilbert said Floyd then threatened to smash every car in the repair yard and take his paint spray guns.

He said: “She then drove the vehicle into a work van and then towards the victim. “He had to jump out of the way.

“She then reversed into a fence post before leaving the scene.”

Mr Gilbert said Floyd had caused approximately £2,000 of damage to the work vehicle and £1,500 in damage to the fence.

Floyd pleaded guilty to a charge of dangerous driving.

In mitigation, Jo Chester said the relationship had been “toxic” and Floyd was in an emotional state at the time of the incident.

Ms Chester said: “She knows her actions could have resulted in dire consequences and she’s entirely grateful that that did not happen.

“She made a monumental mistake which could have had such tragic consequences and she has striven to re-write her wrongdoings.”

Judge Henry sentenced Floyd to an eight month sentence, which he suspended for two years.

Floyd, of Pevensey Close, Southampton, was ordered to complete 160 hours of unpaid work and 21 rehabilitation activity requirement days.

Judge Henry also banned Floyd from driving for two years, with an extended retest, and ordered her to pay £800 in compensation.
