The Alzheimer’s Society will be running a cupcake day hosted at the Good Companions pub in Eastleigh.

It will take place on Thursday, 13 June at 12pm.

According to the society, in the average time it takes to bake a batch of cakes, six people in the UK will develop dementia.

It is now the leading cause of death in England and Wales, overtaking both cancer and heart disease.

People are invited to participate in any way shape or form whether it is by baking cakes or donating money on the day.
