CCTV has been released in a police investigation into a sexual assault on a woman outside of a town centre restaurant.

The woman, aged in her 20s, was assaulted by a man outside of Giraffe, in Festival Place, Basingstoke, shortly after midnight on Thursday last week.

Police are looking to speak to the person pictured on CCTV wearing a distinctive yellow coat.

A police spokesperson said: "Do you know the person pictured in the yellow coat, or is this you? This person is a smoker with a very distinctive coat and bag.

"We think this person may have seen something valuable that could help our enquiries."

A 24-year-old man from Kingsclere has been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault. He has been bailed until June 13.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting the reference 44190167738, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
