A 'DRUNK man who swigged from a bottle of wine' punched a member of staff in the face at McDonald's last week.

Police were called to the eatery in Ringwood Road at around 4.25am on Sunday, May 5. Officers investigating the incident say a man who "appeared to be intoxicated" walked into the branch with an open bottle of wine.

When challenged by the duty manager, he became aggressive and was escorted out of the branch. The door was then locked behind him.

However, the man attempted to get back inside the restaurant and then walked around to the drive through window and punched a female member of staff in the face.

He then walked off towards West Moors.

Officers have now released a CCTV image of a suspect.

Police Community Support Investigator Kate Hann, of Dorset Police, said: “Fortunately the victim did not sustain any serious injuries as a result of this unprovoked assault but she was understandably left shaken by the incident.

“We are making enquiries to identify the man responsible and I am issuing CCTV images in the hope that someone will recognise him.”
