HUNDREDS of Hampshire residents took part in an annual racing event with weekend - with a twist.
The Donkey Derby 2019 took place at Eling Recreational Ground near Totton and saw dozens of people take part in a range of activities despite the showery weather.
This year was the 24th event in the derby's history and was organised by the Eling Sea Scouts to raise vital funds for their group.
The event combined donkey races, pig racing, tombola, a funky play bus and a barbecue.
There was also be a coconut shy, inflatable fun, a tote facility and refreshments.
The event cost £1.50 per person on the day.
Last year, around 2,000 people poured through the gates of Eling Recreation Ground for the racing and entertainment.
The event raised more that £5,000 for the Eling Sea scouts.
