A MAN was taken to hospital with a fractured skull after being hit in the head with a bottle outside a pub on Friday.
Between 11pm and 11.32pm outside The Beacon, in Kings Road, South Ham, a 38-year-old man was hit in the back of the head with a bottle which had been thrown.
The blow knocked the victim unconscious and he was taken to Southampton General Hospital where he underwent surgery.
The suspected is described as being a black male, aged between 20 and 25.
Police have launched an appeal for any witnesses to come forward with any information about the incident.
