A MAN who harassed a woman via an online dating site has been sentenced.
Paul Anthony Terry contacted his victim on Match.Com – an online dating service operating around the world.
The 48-year-old harassed the woman with unwanted messages and parked near to her work, at a pub in the New Forest.
Terry pleaded guilty to harassment during a hearing at Southampton Magistrates' Court.
He was sentenced to an 18 month community order, with 25 rehabilitation activity requirement days and 80 hours of unpaid work.
Terry, of Stuart Road, Christchurch, was also ordered to pay an £85 victim surcharge and £85 in court costs.
He was also made subject of a restraining order, banning him from contacting his victim or visiting her work place.
