THIS incredible picture shows the Milky Way and Jupiter over a Purbeck beauty spot.
The picture was taken by Echo Camera Club member Tom Ormerod, 40, from Southbourne, in the early hours of Monday morning.
Tom visited Mupe Bay along with two other members of the Camera Club where he shot timelapse video using 150 pictures.
He then took the first 45 images, which equated to 20 minutes of footage, before turning them into this one single image.
The bright light to right is Jupiter which was so bright it cast light onto the sea, while to the left of the picture Mupe Bay ledges can be seen due to the night’s low tide.
Tom said that for around two weeks each month until the end of September, people will be able to photograph the Milky Way during the new moon when the sky is at its darkest.
He also urged any photographers taking pictures of the night sky to make sure they don’t go alone and tell friends and family where they are going, after one of his friends damaged her ankle during the 40-minute walk from Lulworth to Mupe Bay.
He said; “Don’t go out alone, in the middle of night in the middle of nowhere on your own.”
