A MAN was rushed to hospital with serious head injuries after an incident at a Winchester city centre bar.
Police say they were called to reports of an assault on a 37-year-old man in Alfie's, in High Street.
He was taken to hospital for treatment to head injuries that have been described as serious but not life-threatening.
Officers arrested a 24-year-old man at the scene following the incident at 2.30am on Tuesday, April 30.
Since then, Isaac Morrison, 24, of Penny Mead, Harlow, Essex, has been charged with possession of a knife blade/sharp pointed article in a public place and wounding with intent.
He was due to appear at Basingstoke Magistrates Court yesterday morning (Wednesday May 1).
As a result of the incident, Alfie's was closed all day on Tuesday, with a sign in the window saying: "Due to unforseen [sic] circumstances, Alfie's will not be opening tonight. Business will resume as usual tomorrow."
