AS FAR as birthdays go, the 100th is pretty special.
And this is exactly what Salisbury's Lilly Laker experienced last weekend as more than 80 family and friends turned out to celebrate her centenary.
Lilly, who is the widow of former England cricketer Jim Laker, was treated to a special Zumba dance routine by daughter Fiona Harvey and her group, as well as a performance from local signer Sandy Ince of Sticky Toffee Jazz.
"It all went really well," said Fiona, who organised the event in Winterbourne.
"She was just overwhelmed with it all, especially seeing all the people there.
"When we brought out the cake, she was really touched."
Lilly was also treated to a day out at The Oval cricket ground in London, for lunch and cake, while watching Hampshire v Surrey.
