THE Met Office has issued a wind weather warning for the next two days.

The forecaster says gusts of up to 50mph are expected on Saturday and is urging residents to be aware of potentially-dangerous conditions.

The yellow warning is in place from 9pm on Friday to 3pm on Saturday.

It says delays to road, air, rail and ferry transport are likely, with bus and train services affected.

Short-term loss of power and other services is also possible, as well as falling branches.

A statement says: "It's likely that some coastal routes, sea fronts and coastal communities could be affected by spray and/or large waves."
