I HAD the pleasure of seeing Alfie Boe at the Mayflower, what an amazing show!
However, I was slightly distracted by a phone going off a few times in the row behind us. In the end, the man answered it, stating that the show hadn’t yet finished!
I’m sure that he must have felt uncomfortable with the glares, we all make mistakes, but he should have turned it off as soon as it rang the first time.
If he didn’t know how to put it on silent there’s no shame in asking someone, he could have turned it off or left it at home!
Hopefully he will have learnt from this experience and be more considerate to the performer and fellow theatre-goers next time.
