A SOUTHAMPTON man assaulted a police officer just days after a previous suspended sentence came to an end.
Kevin Willett, 30, assaulted the constable in Southampton on July 18 last year.
It was just four days after his previous suspended sentence, also for a violent offence, ended.
Willett denied the assault, but was found guilty at Southampton Magistrates' Court.
He was given a 12 week sentence, suspended for two years, and ordered to complete 60 hours of unpaid work.
Willett, of Buttermere Close, was also ordered to pay £200 in compensation to the officer, court costs of £620 and a victim surcharge of £115.
