Royal Victoria Country Park is the site of a former military hospital – the largest in the world when it was constructed in 1863. Now only the chapel, recently refurbished, remains.

Recently the park’s owners, Hampshire County Council, designate the park ‘Centenary Field’ to ensure that the green space would remain as a memorial to those who gave their lives the First World War.
