PLEASE could all drivers remember to turn off their engines when stationary.

This could be at level crossings or it could be waiting to collect someone.

It could be waiting for your last passenger to jump in the car.

Modern engines do not need warming up.

There are some places I frequently go to where the stink of idling engines really hits you.

For example all around the hospital – sadly, also taxi ranks in evenings.

Drivers are taking the decision to pollute those inside the vehicle more than the people outside your vehicles, and you are definitely adding to the foul air of our city.

Please do your bit by wearing a coat, jumper, hat, scarf and gloves if you think you’ll be cold... please.
