POLICE have arrested a man after war memorabilia worth more than £1,000 was stolen from a man in his 90s.
A man allegedly went to the house in Sholing Road, Southampton, between midday and 1.30pm on Tuesday, March 26, to buy some jewellery, after a leaflet was put through the victim's letterbox.
Police say genuine memorabilia from the Second World War was stolen, including an officer's cap and various uniform badges.
A 58-year-old man from Bursledon has now been arrested on suspicion of burglary.
A Hampshire Constabulary spokeswoman said: "Have you been offered any war memorabilia for sale?
"Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting 44190105297."
