SAM Hopkins must undertake a thinking skills programme after an incident in which he attacked four people in Winchester.

Hopkins, 23, of Christchurch Road, Winchester, pleaded guilty to assaulting Richard Bannister, Columba George, Joseph Jordan and Special Constable Matthew Lloyd on August 29.

He also admitted threatening behaviour against Mr Bannister and damage to a police station cell.

Magistrates in Basingstoke imposed a 26-day community order with a requirement to take the thinking skills programme and a rehabilitation activity requirement for up to 15 days.

Hopkins was also order to pay £75 compensation to Mr bannister, £25 to Mr George, £50 to Mr Jordan and £25 to SC Lloyd. He must also pay an £85 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
