I AM writing this letter to have a good moan about another live music pub shutting its doors to people like me who love going to live music gigs in Southampton.
Talking Heads has gone, Firehouse is going, with pubs shutting one every 12 hours.
Looks like it will be the same old story, student flats, money grabbing building companies, laughing all the way to the bank.
Come on Southampton City Council, get your heads together, and save music before it’s all coffee shops, ice cream parlours, fast food shops, and betting shops if not already.
Bournemouth and Portsmouth have got good venues for live music, why can’t they get together and make one place that will not cost the Earth?
