The fourth event of its kind attracted more than 200 runners to Ocean Village.
The Team Solent 5K Road Race took place on February 14, 1999, when the men’s race ran into problems.
The leading men were disadvantaged by the fact the lead car’s time clock failed to work, meaning the winning time of 14.43, by Stephen Sharp, was slightly slower than anticipated for the fast, flat course.
The prizes were presented by Saints club captain Francis Benali.
