A HUNT has been launched after a terrifying knifepoint robbery in a Hampshire home.

It happened in the early hours of yesterday when a masked man broke into a home and threatened the occupants with a knife.

The man then searched the home before leaving on foot.

Police say they were called to the home in Willow Place, Gosport, at about 1.30am on Sunday following reports of a break in.

Officers have appealed for help in tracking down the robber, who appears to have fled the home empty handed.

DC Gary Tomlinson said: “Our investigations are continuing today and we are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen someone running away from the area or hanging around in the hours before the incident.

“We know such a crime will be upsetting for residents but we are working hard to find those responsible and if you saw something, no matter how insignificant it seemed at the time, please get in touch.”
