AN ALERT has been issued after a man reportedly door knocked homes in two Hampshire villages and asked for over-the-counter drugs.
Police say they have received several reports of an unknown male knocking doors in both Bishops Waltham and Waltham Chase and asking for painkillers.
Officers have asked residents not to give any kind of medication to this person or to anyone else.
PSCO Sarah McCulloch said: "We have received several reports of an unknown male knocking on doors in Bishops Waltham and Waltham Chase requesting painkillers from local residents.
"Can I ask local residents not to give out any kind of medication to any person.
"If this male does happen to knock on your door and you do have any concerns with regards to the male’s health or wellbeing please call the relevant service provider."
Police say enquiries are ongoing with regards to identifying the male to safeguard him and signpost him to seek the support he needs.
PCSO McCulloch added: "Bishops Waltham and surrounding villages is a safe place with low crime levels and this is an unusual incident for this area – but it does highlight the need to keep alert at all times. If you notice anything strange, suspicious or worrying, please report it to your local police by phoning 101 and in an emergency 999.
"To keep this a safe community we need the public to be our eyes and ears."
