DIVISIVE plans to build a new car park at a church near Winchester will be decided by councillors at a meeting next week.
The proposals would see spaces build for 25 cars next to St Swithun's Church, in Headbourne Worthy.
Recommended for the approval, the scheme is due to be debated at on Thursday February 14 at the Winchester City Council planning committee.
So far the Headbourne Worthy Parish Council plans have proved divisive, receiving seven letters of objection, and eight in support.
Issues range from concerns over the visibility of the cars ruining the rural setting of the church, to the allegedly excessive number of spaces.
However, those supporting the scheme argue it would mean people would no longer have to cross a "dangerous" road to get to the church.
