CHRIS Bunyan bagged his third successive Hampshire junior cross-country title in 1979 as he declared the hazardous course at Leigh Park, Havant, one of the worst he had ever experienced.
The Southampton runner was the winner all the way on January 7, as he left behind a host of runners who slid their way to the finish line on snow and ice.
Bunyan finished well over a minute before the competition.
Roger Hackney took first place in the senior race, putting on a finishing spurt to end the race ten seconds ahead of second place.
