A MAN has been jailed after stealing more than £170 worth of chocolate from two shops in his home town.
Robert James Boyt, of Lower Buckland Road, Lymington, admitted stealing the chocolate, worth £171.20, from the Tesco in Lymington High Street when he appeared before Southampton magistrates.
Boyt also admitted stealing a number of perfume gift sets worth £130 from Superdrug, also in Lymington High Street, and failing to appear in court on November 29.
The Tesco theft took place on November 10, while the Superdrug incident took place four days earlier
Magistrates sentenced the 29-year-old to six weeks in prison and also ordered he pay £130 in compensation.
