MILLBROOK were harbouring a weapon of mass destruction when they took on Romsey – the try scoring machine Jim Brown.

The date was January 7, 1989, when Brown’s two tries helped to sink Romsey 19-3.

It was a good away result for Millbrook whose success was built on getting the basics right.

David Jones, scorer of their third try, had a fine game, providing the link forwards and a strong-running line of backs.

Gordon Randell, architect of Brown’s second try, had a substantial speed advantage over his opposite number.
