1 In Southampton...

A NEW exhibition at the Southampton City Art Gallery has arrived.

Leonardo da Vinci: A Life in Drawing will feature 12 drawings, which have been selected to reflect the full range of Leonardo’s interests.

It will not be short of a diverse showing, with paintings, sculptures, architecture, music, anatomy, engineering, cartography, geology and botany.

The gallery will also be displaying drawings from its Designated Fine Art collection, which demonstrate the importance of drawing in an artist’s practise, and its significance as a medium in its own right.

You can visit the gallery in Commercial Road between 10am and 5pm this Saturday.

Admission is free.

2 In Southampton...

IT is Autumn 1940.

The Battle of Britain rages.

Southampton is home to the only hope of victory - the Spitfire.

But when the Luftwaffe drops 2,300 bombs in three devastating raids, the city goes up in flames and the Woolston Supermarine Spitfire factory is destroyed.

Jackie is the third generation of Dimmock at her family-run laundry.

Polly is the first and only draughtswoman in the Spitfire design office.

How will each woman forge her own path in this evolving landscape?

3 In Winchester...

STEP into space this weekend at the Winchester Science Centre in Telegraph Way.

Destination Space is the newest activity programme designed to blow your mind.

Visitors can drop in to the special events and experience a fantastic live science show all about satellites.

These will be running at 11am through to 3.30pm this Saturday for no extra fee on admission.

Staff will also be running space-themed in the Invention Studio and busking throughout the centre.

4 In Portsmouth...

IT is back.

Gamers are getting their geek on as the ultimate retro and board gaming event returns to Portsmouth this Saturday.

Guildhall Games Fest celebrates more than 40 years of gaming, from Pong and Pac Man to Mario and Minecraft, with an unbeatable selection of physical and virtual products.

Play on every console imaginable, from the Vectrex to the Game Cube, from Playstation 1 to Pong on the Binatone TV Master IV.

The event is open to all ages - under 14s to be accompanied by an adult., but an 18s and over-only room will be open with a pop up bar.

WHO done it?

It is 1927 and Gray Catsby is hosting one of his notoriously extravagant parties at The Grand Harbour Hotel in Southampton - can you solve the secrets of a killer?

CELEBRATION is in order this Saturday.

The UK Shaolin Temple has partnered with Solent University and the Confucius Institution to create Southampton’s largest Chinese New Year ceremony.

Join them to welcome in the lunar New Year of the Earth Pig, with colourful performances, parades and displays in and around Southampton Guildhall Square.

Experience traditional Lion and Dragon Dancing, stunning Chinese Kung Fu performances including Tai Chi, synchronised weapons and group routines, and much, much more.

TAKE a walk around the Supermarine factory sites in Woolston this Sunday by signing up for an exclusive tour.

Follow in the footsteps of the workers who built the Spitfire - the iconic World War Two Fighter whilst learning all about the rich history engulfing the grounds.

The tour will last around 90 minutes and is to be led by Geoffrey Wheeler, a See Southampton Green Badge City Guide, who will tell tales of the iconic factories that produced over 22,000 aircrafts.

SPREAD your wings and feel the air beneath you this Sunday.

Penny Productions will be presenting 'Let's Fly' - a variety show in aid of Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance, at The Stage Door Theatre in West Marlands Rd.

It is to feature a range of professional and amateur music and comedy acts, including performances by local musicians Liam White, Steve Christie and Tony White, and by professional comedians Harriet Braine and James Alderson.

All money raised will be donated to the charity.
