DOZENS of people gathered in Southampton city centre on Saturday to pay the tribute to the Polish mayor who was killed at a charity event earlier this month.
More than 50 people gathered in Palmerston Park and lit candles in front of the picture of the Pawel Adamowicz, mayor of Gdansk.
Mr Adamowicz, 53, died last Monday after being stabbed the night before at a charity event.
A number of people at this weekend’s Southampton event held banners which said ‘Stop the Hate’ in both Polish and English to show their solidarity with the family of politician.
Mr Adamowicz’s death has shocked many people across the world.
