A 52-YEAR-OLD woman caught drunk at the wheel of a Mercedes Benz in the car park of a supermarket has been banned from the roads for 23 months.

Beverley Miller, of The Coppice in West Moors, was caught outside Lidl in Ringwood Road, Ferndown on June 29 last year.

She had 93 micrograms of alcohol in her breath. The limit is 35, meaning she was more than two-and-a-half times the limit.

Miller denied drink-driving, but was convicted of the charge following a trial at Poole Magistrates' Court on January 15.

She was fined £800 and ordered to pay an £80 surcharge and £620 costs.

She was also banned from driving for almost two years.
