THE person in charge of the roadworks for Southampton council should resign because only an idiot would start road works all around Shirley and Westquay when work is still going on the Millbrook bypass.
Does the person in charge not think before they act? What effect are these works having all around the roads in the area? It’s utter madness; it is bad enough trying to get into town at busy times because some idiot in planning let Ikea build in Westquay when the road into town cannot handle the traffic.
The whole Westquay was badly planned from the start, as the roads into town can not cope with the amount of traffic because of other things in the same area, but that is councils all over – they don’t think before they act. A trained monkey could do better.
