A MAN has been sentenced to six months and six weeks imprisonment for five thefts from Waterstones in Southampton in less than ten days, as well as other thefts.

Jason Eric Pollitt stole a Beatrix Potter book set, two Harry Potter mugs, two Harry Potter money boxes and seven Harry Potter Scrabble games worth £322.89 before returning the following day for two Harry Potter Scrabble games and a Beatrix Potter book set, valued at £105.98.

Three days later he was back to steal three Peter Pan books, two Beauty and the Beast books, two Jungle Book books, one Little Mermaid book, three Harry Potter books and four packs of sweets, worth £200, with four packs of Harry Potter sweets to the value of £20 in his haul the following day.

The fifth theft from Waterstones was of a Hogwarts movie, scrapbook and four Olivanders pencil tins worth £102.91.

Pollitt, also pleaded guilty to stealing a pair of boots worth £110 from Fat Face in Southampton and a set of curtains from Wilko in Southampton.

The 37-year-old, of Blissford Road, Blissford, Fordingbridge, was found guilty of stealing two bottles of whiskey worth £44 from Waitrose in Chandlers Ford and alcohol to the value of £62 from Sainsbury's in Portswood and will have to pay a victim surcharge of £115.
