FANS of the TV hit Strictly Come Dancing have been invited to enjoy all the sparkles and fancy footwork as some of the best in ballroom come to Hampshire.

Southampton dance company Dizzyfeet is hosting an event celebrating ball room dancing at Hilton at The Ageas Bowl in Hedge End later this month.

And they are inviting residents to attend and enjoy a spectacular evening of ballroom dancing.

James Prouton a dance champion from Southampton is the co-founder of Dizzyfeet with his wife and dance partner, Kelly Prouton.

The event will take place over two days on January 18 and 19.

The event, on January 18, will include a gala dinner and dance, which will feature entertainment from magician Colin Phillips and music from local harpist Lizzy Bennie, and a four course dinner.

There will also be a cabaret performance from two couples.

The first of which is Victor Fung and Anastasia Muravyeva, the professional ballroom champions, and the second is Ferdinando Lannaconne and Yulia Musikhina, the Amateur Latin American champions.

The Saturday will consist of a day of adult and children’s competitions in ballroom, Latin, American smooth and rhythm, with ages ranging from under eight, to over 60.

There will also be a three-course dinner, with 12 invited international couples taking part in an exhibition competition as the evenings entertainment.

The audience will be able to vote for its champion.

Members of the audience will also be chosen to dance with some of the invited professionals in the Brittania Dance Off.

They will either learn a cha cha cha or a waltz, and will compete against each other in the one-off challenge.

Both days will feature charity raffles for Wessex Cancer Trust and Where There’s a Will.

The event will cost £75 per person on January 18 and £70 on January 19.
