POLICE have released the images of two people they would like to speak to following a theft.

Five diamond rings, five sapphire and diamond rings and two ruby and diamond eternity rings were stolen from Christopher Stephens Jewellers in Lyndhurst on December 15.

A gold chain and other jewellery were also stolen from the workshop area.

A 33-year-old man from Salisbury was arrested and has been released while investigations continue.

Police say the incident happened at around 3.30pm.

Three people entered the store where one man distracted a staff member, while another man and a woman opened the window display cabinet.

Officials have released images of a man and a woman they would like to speak to in connection with the theft.
