BARTON Peveril Sixth Form College students performed The Sleeping Beauty Ballet, as part of their extra-curricular activities, for friends, family and local residents on Wednesday 19th December in the College’s Rose Theatre. This was the College’s first ever ballet performance and involved a mixture of dance students and students who take dance as part of their enrichment programme.

Barton Peveril student and lead in the ballet, Laura Marsh, formerly of Henry Cort Community College pupil, said: "It was really exciting to have the opportunity to dance in such a famous ballet, which also happens to be one of my favourite! It was also great to work with everyone in the dance company to bring ballet to Barton Peveril."

Speaking about her students, Teacher of Dance Laura Harvey said: “I am so proud of the dancers. Their commitment to the show and the work that went into it from the dancers was outstanding. They should be very proud of themselves as their final performance was fantastic and showcased an excellent evening of ballet.”
