For several decades she raised both smiles and money with colourful Christmas garb.
Margaret Russell patrolled the crossing in Wimpson Lane, Millbrook, for 31 years before she retired in 2011.
Every Christmas, for 20 years, Margaret made a new costume and these ranged from a turkey to an elf, a candle to a clockwork soldier.
Kids and adults alike would be eager to witness the spectacle each year and see which new outfit she was donning. It became a solid part of their calendars.
How many of these costumes do you remember Margaret wearing?
