AN inquest has been opened into the death of a Winchester man, partly caused by an industrial disease.
Leonard Davis, 87, of Chilbolton Avenue, died on November 21 at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester, three days after he was admitted feeling unwell, the inquest was told.
A post mortem said cause of death was pneumonia and also mesothelioma as well as diabetes and other conditions.
The assistant coroner Samantha Marsh adjourned the inquest until January 17.
