A MAN has been arrested on drug charges after a home was raided in the early hours of the morning in Southampton.

Officers searched a home on Gordon Avenue, Portswood, seizing cannabis, amphetamine, cash, mobile phones and suspected stolen push bike.

A 51-year-old man was subsequently arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a class B drug and theft.

He remain in police custody at this time.

The raid was part of Operation Fortress, Hampshire Constabulary's response to reducing drug-related harm in Southampton through enforcement and support.

Enforcement to prevent drug dealers from bringing violence and harm to city and, offering support to vulnerable people on the periphery of crime in partnership with outreach services.

Police say they need help and information from the community to be able to continue carry out this work.
