A NEW Post Office has opened its doors in Southampton.

The new Post Office, at Ria Mini Mart, St Denys Road, opened on Monday.

This new branch, open seven days a week, offers customers a wide range of postal services, including cash withdrawals and balance enquiries for customers of all the main UK banks.

The Post office counter will be open 7am to 10pm Monday-Saturday, and 7am-10pm Sundays.

Antoinette Chitty, area network change manager, said: “We want to make it as easy as possible for customers to pay their bills, withdraw cash from their bank accounts, and send and collect their mail at a time and place that suits them best.

“We know how important our services are to customers, and are confident that this brand new Post Office alongside the other branches in the area at Portswood, Midanbury, Swaythling and the university will ensure that people in this area of Southampton have easy access to our services.”

The branch is part of a modernisation and investment programme taking place across the Post Office network, and aims to offer even more convenience to Post Office customers.

Portswood, Midanbury, Swaythling and the university branches join this one in bringing these services to the area.

The services are offered from a low-screened, open-plan counter that is integrated in with retail counters, which enables customers to carry out their Post Office transactions alongside retail transactions.
