Southampton Christmas Ice Rink called Skate opens at WestQuay.
WHILE having coffee in Westquay and looking out at the Christmas ice rink with its melting surface which makes it totally unfit for use, I wonder why on earth we can’t have a temporary rink with a cover, just like the one that is at Winchester.
Surely the extra cost to supply this would be met by the 100% availability in all weathers.
Get your act together, Southampton, surely you must estimate the type of weather that occurs during November and December which would affect an open ice surface and prevent its use.
