FOUR Hampshire volunteers have been recognised for their hard-work and dedication by receiving a top honour from the Princess Royal.
Christopher Woolley, Ali Husband, Tony Evans and Mark Aitken were among 57 people and teams given an award from the Royal Yachting Association.
Christopher, from Sarisbury Green, was given the Lifetime Commitment Award for his commitment to the Rona Sailing Project, a group which takes young people to sea.
Lymington sailors Ali and Tony also received the Lifetime Commitment Award in recognition to their efforts in sailing.
Southampton-based Mark was rewarded with the Outstanding Contribution Award for his work at Warsash Sailing Club.
Christopher, who has also received an MBE, said: βIt was so good to meet the other award winners from all over the country who give so much of their time to boating.β
